M14

During the time I worked with quartz, I spent almost a year at the factory where I witnessed the waste of material. Each and every day quartz off cuts are being wasted and thrown away filling two skips. The off cuts are often from bathroom and kitchen surfaces so the dimensions and are mostly the same.

The mirror base is sourced from the factory, from those skips and is made from a reclaimed Caesarstone quartz off cuts.  The mirror simply sits inside the base slot and can be easily removed

In 2018 I was commissioned by the Marriott Hotels Autograph collection group to design, manufacture and supply 220 mirrors to the Bankside hotel, London. The interior designers specified M14 mirrors, based on the original design by kukka. The mirrors were re-designed to match the hotels health and safety standards and regulations and yet, they were made from reclaimed quartz material.
